  IMPORTANT: No more politics, soapboxes and whinging.

  it seems that politics are once more taking over the board.. when things are discussed properly it's not a problem but alas, it seems some can't help but start throwing insults and labels around.

  i keep reading about "you left wing communist loving liberals" and "right wing facists" and really, it's getting very tiresome.. can i suggest we tone it down please.

  think before you post and don't be surprised if you include insults in your post that it will just be deleted.. also, unless you are interested in having a discussion and hearing opposing points of view without getting all pissy about it then don't post !

  has anyone seen the news about jessica lynch's book (which isn't even written yet).

  on the news last night the father of one of lynch's company of soldiers was on tv stating that since his son was part of her experience that she should share the profits from her book.

  his son was killed in that battle in iraq.

  In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter who gets a book deal and who does not? Could it be a mear chance that "fate" smiled on someone and not others? Happens every day! However, sometimes, fate or should I say (the news media......) is directed(?) to give more attention to someone that is more acceptable to the masses than others?

  Oh well. Who really cares on the small stuff anyway?

  The true information about the "heroic acts" is available if you look for it. she gets a book deal? Great! The Government is going to get all of the PR it can over this situation. The sharks that smell money will bitch and complain until they get a slice of the pie. That is the way people are. I really don't give a flying ----. Also, what about all of the OTHER soliders that have been killed, lost a arm, leg, etc.?

  As far as your other comments are concerned, Why display your ignorance over things which you are not apart of and have NO knowledge about? Other than, of course, the supermarket tabloids? But than, your just ribbing right? I always tell people to stay within their own knowledge base and to be careful about the unknown as it might jump up and bite them on the ass....................But who wants to go to Carolina?

  One more thing, What can I say?------- I voted for Bush! I have no problem with the man. But I do have concerns for the business that goes on behind closed doors. If you are into politics, you will understand what I mean.

  Prayers in Restaurants....

  on bank holiday monday just gone, a dear kind older couple in the cong decided to take me and my good lady out for a slap up meal, to try to cheer us up after the recent upheaval in our life.

  somehow i ended up with the bill.. anyway, this was the local italian trattoria were we often go, and are on first names terms with the staff and quite a few of the other regulars.

  big mistake!!.

  How full of PRIDE people must be! Nothing wrong with prayer. For anyone to openly address everyone in a public restaurant and loudly say a prayer in which much attention is drawn, this person has received his reward "in full" at that time. It would be and is obvious that the intentions are/were to impress those people in the immediate area and NOT to show dignified, personal respect in giving thanks to GOD. In a sense, this person has stolen from GOD.
